| On January 30, 2012, YCPA participated to a private consultation on the new budget prepared by the Minister of Finance and deputy of Outremont, Mr. Raymond Bachand. The private consultation was organized by the RJCCQ with respect to its program named “Serie des Jeunes Leaders”. Such meeting was strictly reserved for the young chambers of commerce and the governors of the RJCCQ. Me Ponora Ang (president) and Paul Mai (director of finance) represented the young Chinese and Asian professionals and entrepreneurs during the consultation for the new budget of the Quebec government. |

Celebrating the first Chinese New Year with the General Consulate of China in Montreal
Saturday January the 14th, YCPA has been invited by the General Consulate of China in Montreal to celebrate the Chinese New Year at Place des Arts. Three representatives from YCPA, Leonard Xu (VP), Michel Tann (Director, Public Relations) and Meng Wang (Director, Events), have participated the event with much enthusiasm. It was both an honor and a pleasure to be among the most influential associations and personalities of the Chinese community. Moreover, the consulate’s officials stated YCPA’s dynamism and contributions to their community. We are convinced that the Year of the Dragon will reveal excellent surprises to our association!

YCPA participated to this memorable event, a reminiscence of 18th and 19th century high society soirées of Old Europe, organized by the Montreal Chinese Hospital Foundation. The glittering event was attended by members of the YCPA and its affiliates and was an opportunity to get involved in the community which we are all a part of. Through its involvement, the YCPA wishes to underline the importance of providing quality care for the elderly and the ills. The festive evening was as well a moment to rejoice and celebrate the success of the fundraising efforts deployed by the Montreal Chinese Hospital Foundation.
YCPA joined the Chinese Consul of Montreal to celebrate the National Day
On September 29, 2011, YCPA had the honor to be invited by the Chinese General Consul of Montreal to celebrate the National Day of China. The reception was hosted at the Sheraton of Montreal. Many distinguished guests also joined the celebration such as Prime Minister Jean Charest, Mayor Gerald Tremblay and former Mayor Pierre Bourque. Among various public representations made, the Chinese Consul and Prime Minister Charest informed the attendees of their genuine collaboration to have an airline serving direct flight between Montreal and Shanghai put in place. Ponora Ang, president, and Patrick Quan, vice-president, had the privilege to speak to the General Consul about fostering the relationship between the Chinese Consul and YCPA in the upcoming months
YCPA Sits in a Panel at Union Montreal to Express the Needs of the New Professional and Business immigrants in the Market Place
On September 25, Me Ponora Ang, acting on behalf of YCPA , was panelist at the Congress on the Integration of Professional and Business Immigrants in the Market Place hosted by Union Montreal. Together with 16 other presidents of chambers of commerce, Ponora Ang explained to Union Montreal representatives and the public the challenges that new arrival immigrants face when they are trying to integrate in the market place. Among other topics, YCPA spoke about the linguistic problem that the Chinese and Asian immigrants have to encounter when they try to find a job in Montreal.
