Message From President

Time and money spent in helping men to do more for themselves is far better than mere giving”

Henri Ford

Recently, the markets of China and Asia became one of the most prominent and attractive for foreign investors. Although the United States of America remains the most important economic partner for the province of Quebec, China has now taken the second rank. Its accession is not slowing. However, many Quebec investors have manifested their difficulties to carry an ongoing and profitable business in China. As well, many delegations organized by our various levels of government failed to bring convincing results after several attempts to pierce the Asian markets. In fact, the layman would conclude that the business culture in China and Asia is different, if not poles apart.

The Quebec multiculturalism is of an important benefit to our society. In fact, with regard to the Asian communities, those new generations have successfully integrated the Quebec society with its values and customs, while preserving its Chinese and Asian cultures among the years. Also, it noteworthy to underline that lately, there were an increase of Chinese immigration; business people, professionals and university students. Those new immigrants are seeking to integrate in Canada, and are of added value for Canadian investors looking to understand the Asian cultures.

YCPA take cognizance of those bilateral and complementary needs. In one hand, it recognizes the interests of Canadian investors to operate in China and to develop business relationship with the Asian communities. In the other hand, it understands that the new immigrants wish to integrate in the Quebec society and require assistance.

Therefore, it is with this factual background and socio-economic perspective that YCPA will operate for the next term of 2011-2013.  As the president of YCPA, it is with great honour that I will take this twofold challenge with my team, which are to assist the Canadian investors to carry business in China and with the Asian communities, as well as to support the Chinese and Asian young entrepreneurs, professionals and new immigrants to integrate in our society, to develop themselves and to succeed gloriously in the marketplace of Quebec.

On behalf of the executive team of YCPA, I would like to kindly thank you for your interests in our organization.

Me Ponora Ang

President of YCPA
